Introduction to SQL

What is SQL?
In simple terms, SQL is a standard language used to interact with a database system. It allows you to easily access and modify data stored in a relational database.
SQL stands for Structured Query Language often referred to as Sequel.

Why do we need it?
Data plays a crucial part in various industries today. It is the basis on which business decisions are often taken and as such, being able to define, manipulate and understand data is important. SQL fundamentally allows us to do this.

It is open-source and accessible to all.
It has a good support base and community.
It is an in-demand skill and forms the foundation for many career paths in data sciences, software engineering, big data, etc…
